September 21st was the International Day of Peace. In celebration, some of Skateistan Cambodia’s older students honoured this important holiday by building our very own Stairway to Peace in the new skatepark.
In the week leading up to Peace Day, we talked about what the idea of peace means to each of us, and the students began to design a skateboard graphic related to peace. The next week, all the students transferred their design onto a wooden stair cut into the shape of a skateboard. A little varnish and voila! We now have a beautiful set of stairs to remind us of the importance of peace, every day.
